No hugging, dear. I'm British. We only show affection to dogs and horses.

I have talked about hugging before, but never before have I seen a theology of hugging put to music. (Caveat: I will concede that the most powerful line is an argument from silence. Extra points if you find it.)

So, this team is perfect. We stepped out on that field that way tonight and if it's all the same to you, Coach Boone, that's how we wanna leave it.

I don't want to whip the non-football fans, but I felt compelled to weigh in on an interesting situation.

Contrary to ESPN's Jeffri Chadiha, I don't think the Colts did the right thing in benching their players in the second half in what would become their first loss of the season.

I know the ultimate goal each season is the Super Bowl, but I would have played for the win. After all, YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME! Not just because it's good to win the game or any game, but because they still had a good chance to go undefeated. Every year someone wins the Super Bowl, but only once has a team gone undefeated while doing so, the '72 Dolphins.

Sure, there are risks involved with having your players in football games and I know they've locked up the #1 seed, so there's no way to improve their playoff standing. But, there are also risks involved after a team has made the playoffs when trying to improve seeding.

Can a #6 seed win the Superbowl? The Steelers did it in 2006.

Yet, nobody says it's only important to make it to the playoffs while they are able to shoot for hosting a game or getting a bye. They take a risk in pursuit of a goal.

I may be in the minority, but I think a 19-0 perfect season is a significant enough goal. After all, THAT has never been done.

Get me. I'm givin' out wings.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Cultural Warrior Pinhead Bill O'Reilly has yet to realize that the "WAR ON CHRISTMAS is a war being waged on Two Fronts!!!

Self Proclaimed Cultural Warrior Bill O'Reilly and his Foxy Lieutenants are acting like "pinheads" in their ever vigilant defenense of "America's Cultural Tradition of Christmas." They are Boldly speaking out about the mischief that the A.C.L.U. and other Humanist Organizations are bringing out at this time of year in their ongoing battle against the "93% of Americans who celebrate Christmas...Christmas isn't just for Christians it is an American Cultural Tradition". And while EYE for one appreciate Fox News Bold and Fresh willingness to speak out against Humanists who have the audacity to publicly advertise such Signs of the Times as:

"NO GOD, NO PROBLEM"

In this video clip you will observe O'Reilly's question/comments: "Why do they (Humanists) loathe the Baby Jesus?...He's just a baby!...We have Christmas, We have fun, We get presents!!!... They (atheists) have (winter) solstice!

EYE simply must inform Mr. O'Reilly that whether he chooses to publicly recognize it or not; The War Against Christmas is a War being waged on Two Fronts:

While his Band of Cultural Warriors whose battle cry is "KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS! is boldly charging after Secular Atheist Humanists on One Front, on a Second and vastly more dimensionally Battle Tested Front those who are: earnestly contending for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
are growing in numbers in these Latter Days, and proclaiming that the TRUTH of our MESSIAH SHALL soon have nothing more to do with Un-Scriptural man made traditions and rallying behind the Banner of:

Come out of her(the Mother Church of Babylonian sun god worship), my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Revelation 18

Discover who the god actually born Dec. 25 was!

While Caroler's with their W.W.J.D. Bracelet's sing through the night: NOEL NOEL, BORN IS THE KING OF YISRAEL

How often have we really considered the very WORD of our Messiah?

...Thus have ye made the commandment of ELOHIM of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did EYE SAY YAH (Isaiah) prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. MattitYahu (Matthew) 15:6-9

What is truly ironic about this man-made Holiday is how worked up Evangelical Christians, and Catholics like O'Reilly can get. They are modern day Don Quixote's so proudly charging against U.N.godly Humanists in their defense of their favorite man-made Holiday. Indeed a very secular Holly Day whose pre-Christian origins are so blatantly rooted in Babylonian pagan sun god worship! Pinhead O'Reilly is willingly ignorant that the very Catholic Church that he proudly belongs to is the very party responsible for the un-Biblical practice of setting the birth of the Messiah on December 25 the well documented birth-date of the pagan sun god!

As O'Reilly chases after windmills in his Cultural War he has yet to publicly recognize that the "War on Christmas" is indeed a War on Two Fronts. His is the Broadcast way that leadeth to destruction as he defends the "Baby Jesus" His Foxy Lieutenant Carlson boldly defends the Traditions of her Christian fathers to sing out to proclaim the birth of O'Reilly's "Baby Jesus":

O Come, let us adore Him,
O Come, let us adore Him,
O Come, let us adore Hymn,
Christ the Lord.

O How those who are on the Broadway love to adore little "Baby Jesus". Yet what these diligent Cultural Warriors fail to understand is that our Messiah shall return as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah who will rule all Nations not with an Iron Curtain yet with a rod of iron, that shall smash man made traditions which dilute from the truth of his set apart WORD:

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Rev 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS GilYAHna (Revelation) 19:15-16

Sorry Bill there simply will be no Christmas Trees in the Kingdom of Heaven!

Thus saith YHVH, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not... YermeYahu (Jeremiah) 10:2-8

If you adore the "Baby Jesus" Bill why don't you truly show your love for your Creator?

If ye love me, keep my commandments. Yohannan (John) 14:15

Did "Baby Jesus" really do away with his Heavenly Father's Commandments?

I and my Father are one. Yohannan 10:30

Will you really have the last word from your Broadcast pulpit Bill? Will we have to listen to you rant about Christmas for all of Eternity? What Highway are you on???

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. MattitYahu (Matthew) 7:13-14

The Creator of the Universe has given us emphatic instructions on how we are to worship him and upon his Appointed Times that he has established for us to more diligently focus our worship, and fellowship with Him. These instructions are to be found most completely in the Twenty Third Chapter of Vayiqra (Leviticus)

And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of YHVH, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of YHVH in all your dwellings. These are the feasts of YHVH, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons... Leviticus 23

The Eternal WORD of Messiah YAHUSHUA more commonly known as YESHUA or in modern English as Jesus of Nazareth shall rule and reign for all ETERNITY thus he SHALL have no need for "Cultural Warriors" in the Messianic Kingdom. The True SAR SHALOM: The Prince of Peace SHALL RULE as Supreme COMMANDMENT GIVER and his HOSTS SHALL truly obey his every COMMAND:

And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the house of YHVH shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of YHVH, to the house of the Elohim of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the TORAH (law), and the WORD of YHVH from Jerusalem. EYE SAY YAH (Isaiah) 2:2-3

Again my condolences BILL on the ultimate elimination of your beloved CHRISTMAS!
For the TRUE SEASON of FUN SHALL BE during SUKKOT; THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES!

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, YHVH of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, YHVH of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith YHVH will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. Zack Awe Rye Awe (Zechariah) 14:16-19

NOAH stay tuned Mr. O'Reilly for the real TRUTH about your TRADITION of Christmas!

FAA Five Million Dollar Bash

Seems the Federal Aviation Administration can throw a manager meeting that dwarfs the commotion created by the Social Security Administration earlier this year (that one was reportedly only $700,000).

In this age of video conferencing it is unimaginable that the FAA needed this gathering of 3600 people to explain a contract with a union that has already been in place for more than two months.

FAA Bash On ABC

Main Street USA gets tapped once again for government excess.

However, this type of activity makes one wonder if these meetings are in already-approved budgets. And, if so, one can only imagine the meeting budgets contained in our pork-ridden, earmarked healthcare reform bill with the House and Senate. Food for thought.

Eugenics Population Reduction Agenda behind Public Water Additives and GMO and Irradiated Foods

Compromise or Bribery ? ? ?

As reported by CQPolitics:

"Reid and his aides have been relatively open about the deals he struck with individual Democrats.

"You will find a number of states are treated differently than other states, Reid said Dec. 19. That's what legislation is all about. It's compromise."

Interesting that the dictionary defines Legislation as "the act of making or enacting laws" and that Compromise is "a settlement of differences by mutual concessions."

I was not aware that "mutual concessions" included giving away billions of taxpayer dollars to buy the support and votes of a few.

Further to the point, the concession Mr. Reid gave up was . . . exactly what?

Sorry, sounds more like bribery to this taxpayer.

To set the record straight, a Bribe (that word used in the headline) is "anything given or serving to persuade or induce."

And Senator Harry Reid did just that, he persuaded some his party members with additional taxpayer dollars for their states that not all states will receive.

As a note, that is also not a mutual concession.

Perhaps Main Street USA should be glad that there were not more Senate Democrat hold-outs...who knows what the final pricetag would be on this earmarked piece of legislation.

More food for thought.

Despite Public Opinion - And The Divide

Do our elected officials even care what we here in Main Street USA think, other than about our vote for them to remain in office, collect their salaries, benefits and, ultimately, a fantastic retirement package?

As reported by the Associated Press, "Public support for the legislation continues to sink in opinion polls, even as the Senate advances."

Wake up, please, Senators!

Yes, many Americans want reform but not at this cost (One Trillion Dollars), not with many provisions now contained in the two-thousand-plus page bill and amendments and not with earmarks and pork (which we were promised would not exist in legislation under this President, by POTUS, himself).

Seems the only opinions they are interested in are their own.

To wit: (AP) "Senate moderates have served notice they won't support a final deal if government-run insurance comes back. And Democratic abortion opponents in the House say a Senate compromise on the volatile issue is unacceptable."

Gridlock?

Perhaps.

Or, maybe there will be hundreds more pages of amendments between the two bills, which, when added together, will make some 4,000 pages of legislation (that not one person will have fully read and understood) and, lo and behold, there will exist many loopholes that some clever attorneys will find. Which will, undoubtedly, cost the taxpayer even more.

Time will tell.

Unfortunately it is a short time as Senator Harry Reid continues to push this atrocity through before Christmas.

What I'd really like to do is put the greatness of this man in perspective.

From time to time folks wonder why there are four different gospel accounts in the New Testament. The short answer is because different writers are giving different perspectives on the same person & work of Jesus, trying to convey unique (but non-contradictory) messages.

What are those messages?
"To some extent, Matthew's Gospel portrays the Lord Jesus primarily as the Jewish Messiah. In fact, it is possible to argue that everything that goes into his account of Christ's life supports that theme. Mark's purpose is to reveal Jesus Christ as God's servant. Luke deals with Christ's humanity. John, however, reveals Jesus as the eternal, preexisting Son of God who became man in order to reveal the Father and to bring men access into eternal life through His historical death and literal resurrection."
- James Montgomery Boice, The Gospel of John, 1.21

Unveil Some Pork

As reported by the Associated Press, here is a glimpse of a few pork items in our massive healthcare reform bill in the Senate:

"Reid cut numerous last-minute deals to get the votes he needed and powerful Democrats also inserted home-state provisions in a 383-page package of amendments Reid filed this weekend to the 2,074-page bill.

"Among other items, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., included a provision allowing residents of the town of Libby, Mont., who are suffering asbestos-related illnesses from a mining operation to get Medicare benefits. Nelson won a list of benefits for Nebraska including a commitment for the federal government to pick up the full tab of an expansion of Medicaid. And Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., who faces a difficult re-election, inserted a $100 million item for construction of a university hospital that his spokesman said he hopes to claim for the University of Connecticut."

Can't wait until all is revealed.

What Happened to Promises of No Pork?

During his campaign, President Obama promised legislation in his administration would not contain pork, or earmarks.

However, in order to capture what the Senate feels are their 60 votes needed to pass national healthcare reform, there is definitely excess baggage contained in the bill.

Consider that Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson ended up with at least an additional $45 million for his state as part of the payoff for his vote.

One wonders what each Senate vote cost residents of Main Street USA.

And there is bad news for people who like to frequent tanning salons. A tax of 10% will be added to each visit with the reasoning that utilizing those machines increases the risk of cancer. (Thus, not a sin tax like booze, but a health tax.)

That leaves unanswered the question of how many other convenience or consumption or other taxes are in the bill.

Earlier there was discussion of taxing the purchase of sugary drinks. Did that stay in the bill?

And what other taxes, in the guise of other words, will befall each and every citizen in one way or another?

It would also be nice to see what segments of our society make up this 30 million people who will now be able to acquire health insurance.

As stated in an earlier post, the number of those who could not actually afford healthcare insurance was closer to the 10 million mark, with the balance made up of people who could but decided, for their own reasons, not to do so.

They will, evidently, now be forced to acquire it or face fines and penalties.

While there are many millions of people who are against this legislation, but not necessarily totally against healthcare reform, one still has to wonder how, with the thousands of pages written of the actual bill and the various proposed amendments (one of which was 767 pages long), that tort reform is still not in the equation.

Attorney and law firm lobbyists must carry some incredible weight within the walls of Washington.

And, what does the fine print say about the government's ability to add taxes that are not now in the bill if projected revenues fall short and estimated expenses are higher than anticipated?

Citizens of the USA, if this passes, get ready for increased government intervention into your lives, higher personal taxes, consumption taxes on who-knows-what and incredibly massive deficits.

A Government WHAT The People ? ? ?

This one statement says it all (as reported by Associated Press):

Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont vowed that a government-run health care system will return when the realization dawns that private insurance companies "are no longer needed."

Watch out Main Street USA!

Does Senator Sanders believe that ANY companies are needed any longer or should everything be government run?

Charging a man with murder in this place was like handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500.

I found this funny, and rather educational. It's from a page I happened upon explaining How to Avoid a Traffic Ticket.*

4. Don't stand out in a crowd. Let other vehicles and drivers attract an officer's scrutiny while you drive nearly invisibly.
  • Maintain your vehicle. Cracked windshields, burnt-out taillights, and a whole host of other minor maintenance issues can get you a ticket.
  • Wear your seatbelt. It's the law pretty much everywhere, and an iron clad excuse for a sharp-eyed officer to pull you over.
  • Look attentive. Being the one in the pack with a cell phone cradled on your neck and a burger in the other hand is not a good thing.
  • If you are choosing, choose a plain-colored sedan with economy styling over a sporty-looking coupe with bright, eye-popping colors and/or customized appearance. There are lots of economical-looking little cars with snappy power-to-weight ratios and safe, excellent handling.
  • Don't cover your car in eye-catching stickers and/or controversial slogans, no matter how mad some politician makes you. A cop may be a big fan of the guy you loathe most.
  • Remove license plate frames and dealer stickers that identify you as being from 'out of town' wherever else you go in your state. People who travel a long way are less likely to show up in court to dispute a ticket.
  • Don't drive a rolling pig sty. All windows should offer unobstructed views to the driver.

I might add the following:
  • Don't kick the bass so hard that your windows visibly rattle.
  • Don't drive faster than everyone else, who may have seen the officer, or so slow that you draw suspicion.
  • Don't darken your windows so much as to suggest suspicious activity occurs within.
  • Don't fly your away team's car flag when leaving the stadium, especially if the home team lost.
  • Minimize the amount of duct tape visible to the naked eye.
  • Ensure nothing on your vehicle is being held on with bungee cords.
  • Don't lean your seat back so much that the only part of you visible is your hand resting on the top of the steering wheel.
*CAVEAT: I am not suggesting nor condoning unlawful traffic behavior nor shirking responsibility for one's actions on the roadways.

Ah, youth is wasted on the wrong people.

Clearing off my desk today I came across something passed along by my grandmother. It was printed on the back of her friend's funeral program. According to Grandma, "This poem was a 'Dear Abby' column that Edie had handwritten & put into the back of her Bible."

I found it noteworthy and hope you will as well.
Prayer for the Aged
Lord, Thou knowest better than I know myself that I am growing older, and will someday be old.

Keep me from getting talkative and particularly from the fatal habit of thinking I must say something on every occasion.

Release me from the craving to try to straighten out everybody's affairs.

Keep my mind free from the recital of endless details - give me wings to get to the point.

I ask for grace enough to listen to the tales of others' pains. Help me to endure them with patience.

But seal my lips on my own aches and pains - they are increasing, and my love of rehearsing them is becoming sweeter as the years go by.

Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally it is possible that I may be mistaken.

Keep me reasonably sweet. I do not want to be a saint; some of them are so hard to live with. But a sour old person is one of the crowning works of the devil.

Make me thoughtful, but not moody; helpful, but not bossy. With my vast store of wisdom, it seems a pity not to use it at all - but Thou knowest, Lord, that I want a few friends at the end.

DA UK HAS CEASED 2 BE A SOVEREIGN NATION

Da formation of a "ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT" ultimately to be ruled by a Tyrannical Global Dictator is a pre-requisite for the U.N.folding of Bible Prophecy as foretold in Daniel 7, and Revelation 13. What Germany was unable to accomplish in 2 World Wars: the has now been achieved in a bloodless Coup d'tat, by bloody politicians

"At midnight last night, the United Kingdom ceased to be a sovereign state

We woke up in a different country today. Alright, it doesn’t look very different. The trees still seem black against the winter sun; the motorways continue to jam inexplicably; commuters carry on avoiding eye contact. But Britain is no longer a sovereign nation. At midnight last night, we ceased to be an independent state, bound by international treaties to other independent states, and became instead a subordinate unit within a European state."

Read the rest of this report by UK Telegraph Correspondent Daniel Hannan:

Big, Bigger, Biggest Government

What a wonderful opening sentence to this Associated Press article:

"President Barack Obama as well as Democratic liberals and moderates all found something to like Wednesday in an emerging compromise to expand the role of government in the nation’s health care system."

Just what Main Street USA needs, more government involvement – in anything, much less health care.

Especially considering the inflated number of uninsured Americans (see previous post).

For those non-believers, just wait, if our government gets involved in health care there will be more income taxes, more consumption taxes, more excise taxes, and more hidden taxes implemented to foot the gargantuan One Trillion Dollar price-tag. (And a lot of them will come to us courtesy of earmarks, tagged on to other legislation.)

And that unfathomable 13-figure estimate is assuming government projections for revenue and expense are on target. Unfortunately, our elected officials and their hired and appointed staff do not have a sterling record in that area.

We really should heed the advice and wisdom of our Founding Fathers, such as, "Most bad government has grown out of too much government." - Thomas Jefferson

And Main Street USA is experiencing way too much government.

Where does it stop?

As stated before, there may be a time we see Uncle Sam’s Gas Station and Convenience Stores because some special interests do not like oil companies and they convince our Executive and Legislative branches that "things go better with more government."

Hopefully members of the Senate will come to their senses.

We can only hope.

You play with your head. Not your heart. In your personal life? Heart. But when you get on the field — you’re a businessman.

At 7-5 there are at least 5 teams who can beat the New York football Giants this season.

The Dallas Cowboys are not one of them, despite two golden opportunities.

This is not the first time they've owned us.
  • They beat the Cowboys earlier this year in their home opener at the Death Star (i.e., Jerry World).
  • They won the MNF game in which the triplets (i.e., Michael Irvin, Troy Aikman, and Emmitt Smith) were inducted into the Ring of Honor in 2005.
  • PLUS, the 13-3 and #1 seeded Cowboys were escorted from the playoffs by the Giants in 2007 as they came in and handled up on our bidness.
What can I say? Just tip my hat and call the Giants their daddy.

Health Care and Numbers

In the most recent article I read this morning (December 6, 2009, AP: Obama heads to Hill to push on health bill) it states of the House version: "The nearly $1 trillion, 10-year legislation would provide coverage to more than 30 million more people over the next decade with a new requirement for nearly everyone to purchase insurance."

I am a bit confused about this statement.

The number of Americans who do not have insurance when healthcare again hit center stage during the presidential campaign was 46 million.

What happened to over 25 percent of those people who seemed to need it?

Perhaps the over 9 million non-citizens, who were included in the 46 million count were taken off the list. At least that is good news as I do not believe that Main Street USA should be paying anything for them unless they are here legally and paying taxes and then perhaps only emergency care, not monthly subsidies.

However, without that group the number only goes down to about 37 million.

Of other significant groups included in the number of uninsured there are included slightly over 10 million who earn more than three times the stated "poverty level" but have decided, for whatever reasons, not to purchase insurance. (Though there will be a mandate in the House bill for them to do so. But, as it is subsidized, they still won't have to pay.)

When analyzing the numbers further there are estimated to be roughly 6 million Americans identified as having been undercounted in Medicaid. That is a significant number but also one where the people are actually insured and are listed as not insured.

There are also over 4 million people who already qualify for free or nearly free government subsidized insurance but have not signed up.

As food for thought, I assume those people who qualify for it but have not signed up are already included in some current budget somewhere but, by leaving them in the numbers, it becomes that much more inflated.

And, there are estimates that roughly 5 million Americans who are uninsured are between 18 and 34, single and in relatively good health, making a choice for themselves that they do not yet need insurance.

Thus, realistically, the number of the most needy uninsured Americans (i.e., do not have insurance and most likely cannot afford it) is more likely in the 10 million range.

Doesn't this put the issue in a different light?

I believe that it does.

Yes, health reform may be needed in areas of tort reform and absurd profits for drug companies, but the House and Senate do not address these two issues.
