Pentagon Developing Robots to Hunt Down Non-Cooperative Humans Like a Pack of Dogs on Prey

This is incredibly sick news and unfortunately, like everything else on TCMA, very real life.

Simply put, the Pentagon is looking for contractors to develop this twisted technology, but let me give you some chilling thoughts to ponder:

Chiller #1: This was revealed TWO YEARS ago. How far could engineers have reached after two years and lots of funding (answer: is your bunker stocked?? Seriously)

Chiller #2: According to an expert in the field, Noel Sharkey, an AI and robotics engineer at the University of Sheffield , this likely contributes to a larger goal called the Future Combat Systems project which aims to make a single soldier the nexus for a large scale robot attack.

Chiller #3: Once the Pentagon's contractor request began to be publicized it was quickly and ominously shut down as seen here. I don't know about you but things kept secret worry me.

Steve Wright of Leeds Metropolitan University, an expert on police and military technologies, last year correctly predicted this pack-hunting mode of operation would happen. He says,

"The giveaway here is the phrase 'a non-cooperative human subject. What we have here are the beginnings of something designed to enable robots to hunt down humans like a pack of dogs. Once the software is perfected we can reasonably anticipate that they will become autonomous* and become armed. We can also expect such systems to be equipped with human detection and tracking devices including sensors which detect human breath and the radio waves associated with a human heart beat. These are technologies already developed."

*Noted as PHASE III on the Pentagon proposal is the desire to have the robots developed to “intelligently and autonomously search”. Did you know that South Korean authorities are already planning to have a fully armed autonomous robot police force in their cities?

The proposal further describes the need to “…develop a software/hardware suit that would enable a multi-robot team, together with a human operator, to search for and detect a non-cooperative human subject. The main research task will involve determining the movements of the robot team through the environment to maximize the opportunity to find the subject, while minimizing the chances of missing the subject. If the operator is an active member of the search team, the software should minimize the chance that the operator may encounter the subject. The software should maintain awareness of line-of-sight, as well as communication and sensor limits. It will be necessary to determine an appropriate sensor suite that can reliably detect human presence and is suitable for implementation on small robotic platforms.”

Not content with merely pushing world war-style rationing and the complete de-industrialization of the planet, global warming alarmists meeting in Cancun Mexico this week will propose the forced relocation of entire populations in the name of offsetting man made climate change.

The shocking proposal appears on page 6 of the executive summary of the Special Climate Change Program.

As a means of mitigating climate change, encouraging sustainability and reducing CO2 emissions, the document calls for, “the implementation of relocation programs for human settlements and infrastructure in high risk areas.”

Relocation of populations has historically been achieved by force at the hands of an authoritarian ruling elite, to the “substantial harm” of the target settlement, with loss of private property and harrowing social dislocation, and in some cases genocide, being three primary outcomes. The most odious example in recent history was of course the forced transfer of Jews from wartime Germany by the Nazis.

Political scientist Norman Finkelstein notes that forced relocations are often justified by the ruling authorities as a necessary solution to a drastic crisis, which is precisely the rhetoric used in the Cancun document.

The proposal by climate alarmists to forcibly relocate communities against their will is yet another revealing indication that the green movement has dispensed with all pretense of liberal legitimacy and has openly bared its teeth as an authoritarian and despotic undertaking. Read the Full Article

“In one paper Professor Kevin Anderson, Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, said the only way to reduce global emissions enough, while allowing the poor nations to continue to grow, is to halt economic growth in the rich world over the next twenty years.

“I am not saying we have to go back to living in caves,” he said. “Our emissions were a lot less ten years ago and we got by ok then.”

War Machines

The New York times recently had an article about the US governments quest for war robots. The first line of the blog states "War would be a lot safer, the Army says, if only more of it were fought by robots." While this may be true in our non sentient machine world, when the singularity happens, I would posit that it would then become exponentially more dangerous for humans. The article and the video above talk about a Robotics Rodeo where robots were showcased for their destructive capabilities in a warlike situation. A chilling depiction is described in which a robot is rolling along on it's tank like tread and sees a sniper at the top of a wall. It turns it's robot head and takes out the sniper. Just like the robot ends the dummy snipers life, it will some day end human lives in the same manner.

Mankind is so stupid.

As humanity gasps it's last breath we will look back on things like the robotic rodeo and realize that this was the beginning of the end. Humans might shoot first, but robots shoot second, and they will have the final say.

Transformers Prime to Return in February

A new Transformers: Prime commercial that aired with a repeat of episode 1 finally explains why The Hub has not provided the regular time slot for the cartoon series. It turns out it simply doesn't have one. Once the initial five episodes of the opening "Darkness Rising" story arc airs this week, the series is going on hiatus until February 2011. Very odd scheduling decision to air five episodes in one week then wait two months to air more as it negates any momentum the mini-series might have generated. I was feeling all Tophat and Tails, Fred and Ginger, today. What brought that on? Dunno. When I was there it seemed empty, chewed, abused and stagnant. However the old images of my predictively programmed childhood still engender a certain feeling towards it.

Something brought that to the fore today. So I went looking for sounds to satiate the unwarranted emotion. Yello? Peter Skellern? Well I got one of my favorites. Joe Jackson.

Whilst looking I stumbled over the main man again and I felt this was a very important statement of the current contusion and confusion.

I know, I know he dodged a big one in there but I’ll give him it. He’s got a well heeled (healed) audience of skinny old fat bints in California to keep sweet. However that aside he’s stated a very important dimension to this mess. Our own culpability and what to pkekking well do about it.

With that over I caught up with Tarpley’s latest.

If the Eire minimum wage is going to be cut by 1Euro then there is quite simply no more evidence needed that the current politcal economy is bankrupt and lethal. Free markets are rigged markets. Free trade is a steal. Democracy has atrophied and there is no hope in a petrified politcal class. That the religiokriminal network has finally absorbed the free West. That we might as well torch everything on site, in sight, on sight, kill every stranger and revert to a state of nature.

However as I said over at the other shop yesterday and MT laid out above, the solution is in our hands and must start with command over the next second. Using HL

When you have a right triangle, consider the Hypotenuse-Leg Theorem. This video link gives a good example for the last postulate/theorem that we use to prove triangles congruent. The example shows another way to do proofs - by using flow-chart style proofs.

TI-Nspire

One piece of new technology that we have incorporated into our classroom this year is the TI-Nspire calculator. While it'd be great if all of us have that handheld, for now, the software that I use can help us understand some concepts. This was a screen shot of the demostration on exterior angles.

Parallel Lines Review

Draw

More so than any other math class, geometry is very visual. To understand the problem that you are solving, make sure you have a good sketch of the shapes invovled. Don't be afraid to draw the diagrams yourself and make the proper markings in order to better understand the problem.

Classifying Triangles

With the minimum of three sides, triangles are the most basic and important polygons. Learn the basics and build a strong foundation through classifying triangles. This skill will help you throughout this and future math classes. This video serves as a great review.

Bay Denies 3D Problems, Dates Trailer

Michael Bay has once again popped up on his forums denying the recent report that his 3D footage for Transformers: Dark of the Moon was unusable. On top of that, he reports that "the Transformers announcement piece", aka the teaser trailer will premiere with The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (December 10th) and Tron: Legacy (December 17th).

Wow, I read these morons on the internet who think they are in the know. "We have problems with our 3D????” Really? Come into my edit room and I will show you beautiful 3D. There has never been a live action show that has pushed the boundaries of 3D like Transformers 3. We shot the entire movie with 3D cameras. I actually loved shooting in 3D.

I will give full details of my process and why I liked 3D in the next week right before the Transformers announcement piece comes out on Tron and Narnia.

And don't watch this movie in 2D, we made it for 3D.

The forum specific links are here and here. While some may claim he is lying, in this case I don't see any reason to. As said before, they had a 3D viewing rig on location at all times that easily allowed them to catch any problems with the footage. Also don't forget that Bay had a 10 minute or so edit of the footage put together for the cast and crew early in filming; another chance to find any problems and make corrections. It doesn't make much sense that Bay and his 3D consultants (many from the Avatar crew) would not have discovered any problems until now. Mini-controversy over with the most important piece of this whole thing being we are about two weeks away of getting our first look at Transformers 3. Thanks to everyone for the heads-up.
