Sounds like somebody's got a case of the Mondays.

Lionel Woods at Black & Reformed shares his thoughts on giving in the church, arguing that the pastor should know who is giving and how much.

Read Jim Ellif's thoughts on the danger of debt and how to avoid and/or get out of it. He also offers 7 suggestions, including this one:
6. Give to God, but don’t give away what you do not have. There are many wonderful promises in the Bible for the giver. But God would rather you work on your debt first so that you can give what is actually yours later. It seems right to me to limit your giving to your church to an exact ten percent of your income (though I don’t believe NT Christians are under this OT law of percentage giving) until you are actually free. Then, when liberated, give as generously as your love for Christ will lead you. Until then you may have to think of other ways to be generous, like giving time or sweat or possessions.

Read about the "custody" battle over a Greenville, SC man's amputated leg that was accidentally included in the purchase of a smoker.

Download a Free Audiobook. ChristianAudio.com is offering a classic, "The Life of David Brainerd" by Jonathan Edwards, as their free download of the month.

Scope out these September 11 premonitions. There are some eerie instances of foreshadowing of the tragic events surrounding the World Trade Center.

Read about the NY woman who is suing Apple for it's $200 price cut of their iPhone, after she purchased hers at full-price. She's seeking $1,000,000 in damages, of course.

Johnny Mac attempts to answer the question: "Does God love whom He does not save?" (Part 1 - Part 2) Note as well some interesting dialogue in the comments sections. (Suggested Read: The Difficult Doctrine of the Love of God, D.A. Carson)

Read about the postulation that Jane Fonda is to blame for contributing to global warming. Well, not her alone, but her movie "The China Syndrome," that made people more reliant on coal as they were frightened by nuclear energy.

Scope out these creative uses of old computer parts. I've always taken my out and finished them off with my double-barrel 16 gauge and it looks like fun to take a bat to a disobedient printer in an open field, but these are pretty ingenious.

Read about how More Americans know Big Mac ingredients than the Ten Commandments. I wonder, "How would Christians fare?" Personally, I struggled to construct the Big Mac, but I found the other more palatable.

Read an argument related to churches (and their "guest workers") & immigration reform.
Melissa Snarr, assistant professor of ethics and society at Vanderbilt University Divinity School, called for a special kind of "immigration reform" for America's churches, where Christians assess whether their primary devotion is to their country or to God.

Track the changes in the Batman logo (Part: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Also, learn wisdom from Batman's many lectures to Robin.
  • Catwoman: "Let no one say that Catwoman is not the best-dressed woman in the world."
  • Batman: "There are no fashion shows where you're going, Catwoman."
  • Robin: "And how could a feline feloness like you also be a fashion model?"
  • Batman: "Ah-ah. Give credit where credit is due, Robin. She may be evil, but she is attractive. You'll know more about that in a couple of years."

Findings suggest that the trend among young, white evangelicals is to be conservative, but not necessarily tied to the Republican party.
"The trends toward dissatisfaction with Bush and away from the Republican Party by younger white evangelicals suggest that the Democratic Party may have a new opportunity to appeal to this group. Yet, while this group seems to be less loyal to the Republican Party than older white evangelicals, they remain much more conservative than the overall population in the same age group."

Read 17 Strange Facts about Hitler.
Hitler’s handwriting is impeccable. When famous psychologist Carl Jung saw Hitler’s handwriting in 1937, he remarked: "Behind this handwriting I recognize the typical characteristics of a man with essentially feminine instinct."
