Monument to Crazy Horse

In South Dakota, just a few miles from Mount Rushmore, a man made a commitment to the Lakota Tribe of Indians to create a lasting monument to Chief Crazy Horse.

The work began in 1948. Over six decades later the only real visible creation is the head of the Chief. The man who made the promise, Korczak Ziolkowski, died in 1982. However, his family, including seven of his 10 children, continue with his dream.

When the sculpture is complete, it will be the largest in the world.

Over For Now.
