Tribute: Dame Elizabeth Taylor

One of the finest actresses ever to grace the silver screen was Dame Elizabeth Taylor.

It would be too difficult to sum up her life and achievements in this blog. Suffice it to say that she was one of the few who succeeded in the transition from child star (Lassie Come Home, 1943) and was a two-time Academy Award Oscar Winner for Best Actress, along with a host of other awards and nominations.

Though she definitely deserved the awards for Butterfield 8 and Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe, it would have been great had she won (or even been nominated) for Cleopatra.

Her list of other accomplisments is indeed lenghty, and in 1999, she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Below is a nice tribute to the Dame.

You will be missed, but your films live on!
